Many farmers place most of their attention in increasing production
and minimizing costs, and my job is to move commodity marketing up on
their priority list. We have 11 marketing groups in Northwest MN right
now, and we're planning to add additional groups very soon. The
marketing groups typically have 15-20 members that meet every other
week as a group to discuss the markets. Individual instruction is an
integral part of the program. The instructors do not provide advice,
but instead help farmers see alternatives and better understand the
tools necessary to market their commodities.
